The project logo is an adaptation
of a carving, by an unknown Canadian soldier, into the walls
of a tunnel below Vimy Ridge, France. Carved during the
battle for Vimy Ridge in July 1917, it is not known what
the 'V' is meant to represent. It could be Vimy or Victory
or it could be the soldier's initial or perhaps it stood
for his hometown of Vancouver, Victoria, Vegreville, Victoriaville,
Vernon, Vulcan or any of dozens of hometowns in Canada.
It could be a regiment or battalion number.
We will never know.
